Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran holds Annual Giyarvee Sharif Mehfil and Farewell Party for teacher


On Friday 14th February, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, held an Annual Giyarvee Sharif Mehfil for the young female students who attend the centre. The event was also a farewell party for a well-known teacher at the centre, Sister Naushaza Fiaz. It was very well hosted by Alisha Ahmed and Samawiyah Hussain, who are senior students and the education centre.

The Mehfil began with recitation of the Holy Quran, which was beautifully recited by Nida Ajaz. This was continued with a Hamd, which was also recited by Nida Ajaz. The Mehfil then continued in the traditional way with Aroob Ahmed and Sadiqah Ahmed reciting Qaseedah Burdah Sharif.

The first Naat of the event was a group Naat by Rabia Ayub, Zahoor Fatimah and Amara Ahmed. Maariyah Bilal did the first talk of the event. Laibah Khan recited a beautiful Naat of the Holy Prophet (SAW). This was followed by Maaheen Anjum giving a short talk about Darood Sharif. Iram Khan and Ayman Ahmed then recited praises of the Holy Prophet (SAW). Alisha Ahmed gave a short talk. The Mehfil continued with two sisters, Meerab Ajaz and Ayman Ajaz reciting a Naat Sharif. There was also a short Urdu poem, which was recited by Sana Saeed Butt.

Amina Ahmed then delivered a short Speech to the gathering of students. Irtikah Mehmood and Amina Ahmed then recited praise of the Holy Prophet (SAW). This was followed by another talk by Samawiyah Hussain. The final Naat of the event was recited by Nimrah Khan. Whilst the final talk of the event was given by Atiyah Parveen, who was the special guest and a former student of the centre.

There was also a short question and answer quiz incorporated into the event. This enabled students to learn more about their religion, and to also enjoy learning at the same time. Students were asked questions by Tahira Basharat, who then rewarded correct answers with sweets.

Students who had performed cleaning duties throughout the month of December were presented with special prizes from teachers. In addition to this all the staff and Alama Sahib said farewell to Sister Naushaza Fiaz and appreciated her hard work and effort throughout the previous years. They prayed for her success and wellbeing in the future.  She was also presented gifts and flowers by students and teachers.

The Mehfil was concluded with salaam by Atiyah Parveen and Tooba Bilal.  Dua was done by Nimra Khan. Everyone was very happy to have successfully conducted another Giyarvee Sharif Mehfil.  Children were also given refreshments at the end.
