Shahid Mursaleen of Minhaj-ul-Quran, a growing progressive movement in the UK, said Hizb Ut-Tahrir was being unislamic and that the national organisation was among those telling Muslims to choose the candidate they believed would best serve their constituency.

A GOVERNMENT ban on extremist Muslim groups is welcome but does not go far enough, urged Forest Gate Islamic centre, the Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK. The call came during a seminar at the Houses of Parliament that featured the Minister of Communities, Shahid Malik, and several of the centre's leaders. Event organiser Shahid Mursaleen explained the seminar hoped to present solutions to the Government "for addressing the current issue of youth radicalisation at British universities, which has for long been ignored".

OFFICIALS from an East London mosque have criticised plans to march through the village of Wootton Bassett. Controversial Islamic group Islam4UK want to parade through the Wiltshire village – famous for honouring British soldiers brought back from Afghanistan. But Shahid Mursaleen from the Newham Islamic Centre, based in Romford Road, Forest Gate, told the Yellow Advertiser he was furious about the idea of a march.
